Joanne,
Wow。 Just wow。 This book shows that schools all over the world are the same。 We all have these tales to tell。 We all live these days。 The highs and the lows。 The fun and laughter and the tears and tantrums。 The beef with the higher uppers in the educational world the whole world over。 I laughed so hard that it disturbed my sleep as I would remember a funny and oh so familiar story just as I was dropping off and start laughing all over again。 I’ve screenshot paragraphs to refer to and to keep me Wow。 Just wow。 This book shows that schools all over the world are the same。 We all have these tales to tell。 We all live these days。 The highs and the lows。 The fun and laughter and the tears and tantrums。 The beef with the higher uppers in the educational world the whole world over。 I laughed so hard that it disturbed my sleep as I would remember a funny and oh so familiar story just as I was dropping off and start laughing all over again。 I’ve screenshot paragraphs to refer to and to keep me going in times of disillusionment with the system。 Brilliantly written。 A real page turn and a book which really shouldn’t have an end。 All who have something to do with education, be that teachers, support staff, dinner ladies, parents and pupils, along with and most importantly ‘bosses’ need to read this book。 It should be mandatory。 。。。more
James R。,
As a primary school teacher I've read a lot of dry, technical books about teaching but none of them captured the day-to-day reality of working in a primary school as well as this book。 It's funny, honest and insightful in equal measure and if recommend it to anyone who works on a school。 I'd particularly suggest the audiobook version of the book as the two brothers play off each other well and deliver their anecdotes with good comic timing。 As a primary school teacher I've read a lot of dry, technical books about teaching but none of them captured the day-to-day reality of working in a primary school as well as this book。 It's funny, honest and insightful in equal measure and if recommend it to anyone who works on a school。 I'd particularly suggest the audiobook version of the book as the two brothers play off each other well and deliver their anecdotes with good comic timing。 。。。more
Janette,
I was looking forward to reading this as have listened to several podcasts over the years and love the short videos that they put on social media and it was definitely an enjoyable read。 It is a mainly light-hearted look at the life of teachers (and teaching assistants) in a primary school。 I say mainly light-hearted as Mr P doesn’t shrink from telling it as it is and there are several sharp comments about the current state of primary education。 Generally though, the tone is light as the two Mr I was looking forward to reading this as have listened to several podcasts over the years and love the short videos that they put on social media and it was definitely an enjoyable read。 It is a mainly light-hearted look at the life of teachers (and teaching assistants) in a primary school。 I say mainly light-hearted as Mr P doesn’t shrink from telling it as it is and there are several sharp comments about the current state of primary education。 Generally though, the tone is light as the two Mr Ps cover every aspect of Primary school with a humorous eye。 Several of the episodes made me smile in recognition after many years in a classroom。I think this book would be best enjoyed by those working within schools or thinking of doing so。 I’m not sure that it would appeal hugely to someone with no direct experience of that environment。 。。。more

**Listened to the audiobook and read along with the kindle too**Absolutely loved this book!!!!! I'm a huge fan of the two Mr P's podcast, as a teacher it's always so relatable and so so funny。 As soon as they announced they were writing a book, I preordered the audio book。 I listened to this book right from the moment it was released, and didn't want to stop! The only downside to this book is I just wish it was longer!! 。。。more

Brothers Lee & Adam Parkinson lift the lid and spill the beans on what it’s like to be a primary school teacher in a delightful book which celebrates the age-old remedy for life’s ills - put a wet paper towel on it。 It is written in the easy and relaxed conversational style of their podcast and is a joy to read。I’ve listened to their podcast a few times even though I’m not a teacher, but I’ve been a primary school pupil and I found myself relating to many of the crazy situations described in eac Brothers Lee & Adam Parkinson lift the lid and spill the beans on what it’s like to be a primary school teacher in a delightful book which celebrates the age-old remedy for life’s ills - put a wet paper towel on it。 It is written in the easy and relaxed conversational style of their podcast and is a joy to read。I’ve listened to their podcast a few times even though I’m not a teacher, but I’ve been a primary school pupil and I found myself relating to many of the crazy situations described in each chapter, in which the remedy usually involved a wet paper towel, standard issue in schools, the texture and smell of which I can still recall many years later。 The writing is engaging and funny in themed chapters on subjects such as PE, school trips and the dreaded school dinners。This book has given me a true appreciation for the great things that teachers do but don’t always get the necessary credit for。 The Parkinson brothers’ love for their profession, which they undertake with good humour and honesty, shines through in their excellent book。 。。。more
